workshops
You can't teach writing, but you can help people who are open to learning, reading and working damn
hard to find their own process.
In that spirit, I've taught sessions as diverse as 'what is contemporary?' (creative writing postgrads), first steps in playwriting (20 teenagers, 6 countries), and right-brained thinking for left-brained people (a tough gig: Edinburgh insurance experts). I love working with people who are committed and excited about writing, whether it's plays, fiction, journalism or getting started. Sound about right? Get in touch here. And visit the Scottish Book Trust Writers' Register, who sometimes offer grants for writer visits.
